The boxer may be intersex or something but with the chromosomes XY, should not have been allowed to compete as female

Every single human, even those with a DSD, are either male or female. The fact that the misogynists dragged people with DSDs into their lunacy just shows their bias and lack of compassion for men and women with DSDs.

Exactly. See here:

He probably has 5-ARD like Caster Semenya and was mistaken as female at birth. But 5-ARD are men with male strength.

"Good grief! How crazy can the world get? How many impossible things is one supposed to (pretend to) believe before breakfast?

Thanks Phyllis!"

Here is another comment I received over email:

"Well said, dear Phyllis! Why indeed, don’t they compete against one another, whatever they call themselves?

Or is this just another form of prejudice against women?

And why aren’t there strength tests that such individuals must take so that they complete only against other human beings that have equivalent strength levels?

ABSURD!!!"

AMEN! Let them knock themselves out, and glory in that! I’m sure the crowds would roar with approval.

In due time, however, I would expect that the ‘Top Tier’ would look VERY much like butch men, rather than having any semblance of womanhood about them.

He’s male and he knows it. He never has breasts or a period. His external genitalia are indeterminant and his testes are in his abdomen. So as a young child I guess they could think he was female. But. He went through male puberty as these testes are functioning quite well. This is just another bullshit tale of woe from a man who wants to win against women.

This was a farce, and it marks the end of female sports. He ought to be ashamed, not proud of his phony "win". That Italian boxer should not have apologized. She was right not to shake his hand. She must have been browbeaten into that apology. We've set women's rights back centuries where once again women are made to be subservient to men.

Definitely a separate competition category for intersex athletes; that makes good sense. It allows these individuals to compete, provides a level playing field for the competitors, and protects female athletes.

Permit me to add an observation from Cynthia Eller, author of "The Myth of Matriarchal Prehistory": “[We live in] a time when most of the accoutrements of female sex can be purchased for the price of hormones and a surgical operation.”

Didn't a Canadian sprinter have his medal confiscated for drug-taking. Having XY and lying, is as bad if not worse.

Thank you, Phyllis, for this brilliantly written article slamming the abject horrors women athletes are forced to endure at the hands (literally) of men. Misogyny at its cruelest, even in a patriarchal world burgeoning with cruel treatment of girls and women.
