Hezbollah just sent "waves of rockets" into Tel Aviv. And yet, today, on the front page of the New York TImes, (NYT), there is their usual color photo of a severely wounded Gazan child or woman. In this case, the child's arms have been amputated. I thought: Well, at least it's only a two column photo, not their usual four columan front page photo of wounded or suffering Gazans--but then I kept reading and found FOUR full pages of TWENTY ONE color photos of heavily hijabbed Gazan women and severely wounded Gazan children. The text is heart-wrenching. The misery of displacement. The disabilities, amputations, blindness, the wheelchairs, the suffering.
Proof that the IDF wounds, as well as murders Arab children. Israel is really a baby killer. NOT SO!
For all we know, these photos have been doctored. Many scenes of supposed disasters in Gaza are doctored, or stolen from other war zones. Many films or videos have been shown to have been theatrical ventures, with fake blood, fake ambulances, corpses that manage to run away; in plain view, you can also sometimes see smiling bystanders, enjoying the show.
I trust nothing that the Western media tells or shows us. They are all too willing tools of the Kill the Jew lobby. Read the work of Richard Landes and Nidra Poller on "Pallywood." Watch Pierre Rehov's films. Our fabled reporters knew that if they did not report exactly what Hamas wants that they'd lose their access--and maybe their lives.
I have only rarely seen photos in the NYT of the hundreds of thousands of Israelis displaced from both the south and north of Israel. The thousands of Israelis who have been murderd and seriously wounded by Hamas/Hezbollah/Iran. The PTSD that is off the charts in Israel--for which there are no visible bandages. The non-stop sound of missiles, the alarms, the boom of the Iron Dome, the desperate rush into a shelter or into a safe room, life-saving amenities that Hamas has absolutely refused to provide, preferring to have their civilians wounded and killed--such good propaganda fodder.
Israel is being punished for choosing to protect her citizens. Hamas is being praised for having refused to do just that.
P.S. My article about the film “Bread and Roses” may be up either tomorrow or Wednesday. Sorry about that.
It is really hard to grasp what has become our new normal. When will we get back to normal normal?
You know what a ceasefire is? It’s when the other side is out of ammo or dead. I’m okay with either. Hamas could have ended this thing on October 8th or any day since—any day—by releasing all hostages and surrendering unconditionally. They would have had to face justice, but no one else would have had to die—no one but the 1,200 they slaughtered. Those calling for anything else are complicit in the crimes of that day and the 415 days since. Anyone who cites unverified death tolls is spreading Islamist propaganda. Who are these criminal nations to judge Israel, to threaten its democratic leader with arrest? The number of Israelis killed, kidnapped, or otherwise brutalized would amount to 50,000 Americans if the same ratio held here. Given Biden’s border policies, that’s well underway. Netanyahu is the leader his people need. May our new president (same as the old!) be the same for us.
