I hope you don't pay to read the NYT. The only thing it's good for is to line a birdcage.

It still has useful news on other topics. Just learned that Iran is in dire straights with power cuts and raging inflation.

I NEVER read its Israel/Gaza coverage.

Once again, THANK YOU PHYLLIS, for having shown the moral stamina and innate love of truth to face this profoundly unjust so-called “news coverage” and very simply to point out its injustice!

Who would have thought that anti-semitism -- the oldest, most continuous hatred in the world’s recorded history -- would present itself as the brand-new, latest brand of pseudo-news, and be all the rage for the most fashionable people, the ones who make sure to have all the right opinions?

It’s unthinkable, unassimilable, and yet (sigh) here it is!

Before I discarded the habitually antisemitic New Yorker of Sept. 2...I got this from the same non Jewish neighbor who gives me the NY Times and casually asked me what I d be doing for Xmas...well not going out for Chinese....I just said we don't do Christmas, ...I guess it's ane easy assumption that american Jews are assimilated enough that we "celebrate" the birth Of Our Savior. ....Richard Brody's review of a film Between the Temples...a "scathing" take down of the "rituals of American Jewish life"....he opens his review that the film made before the "attack on Israel" by whom by what?....and the "massacres of Gaza" by Israel. One is an attack...the other clearly unlike Oct 7....were MASSACRES. This is American Jewish life today. ...rife with repellent self hatred by people who 'd swear up and down that they are just "speaking their truths"or some such shyte.

The NYT has a very sorry record of whitewashing Communism Nazism the Holocaust promoting the woke agenda and a strong hostility to Israel snd its right to defend itself and anything relating to traditional Jewish values

Please excuse this comment somewhat (for I haven't read the entire article):

When you mention a, "Pieta-like figure," I'm reminded of a wrenching Algerian news item from the late 1990s--about a woman, all of whose children were murdered by jihadists during the civil war there between the Islamic Salvation Front and the country's National Liberation Front government. (A photograph of the woman, in the teeth of shock and grief, made international news headlines, and, afterwards, she is often referred to as, "The Madonna of Bentalha.")

The continued antisemitism and bias against Israel makes me think of the Prophets in the Hebrew Bible who foretold the days when the world (with some exceptions of course) would increasingly turn against Zion, which in the modern age has only increased. It also makes me think of the day of salvation for Israel.

It's my hunch that her pharmacist son and other sons were members of hamas. And likely the story of her hopping on one leg to the hospital was something she made up. The NY slimes didn't bother to fact check any of it because contrary to what they would have you believe, the NY slimes is not a newspaper, it's a pro-terrorist, anti-Israel propaganda rag. They have a long history of egregious lies to push an ideological agenda from praising life under Stalin's USSR to covering up the holocaust to romanticizing Castro.

This is another reason neither to read nor subscribe to the NYT aka Pravda on the Hudson
