While I am no lawyer or jurist, I believe that terrorists are not protected by the Geneva convention.zThey should be shown no quarter on the battle field. Perhaps the only exceptions should be for intelligence gathering.
Ah, that is the point. A wise editor and friend just told me that the only and the best info that Israel got about Gaza was from the Hamasniks whom they captured. And someone else published a piece at Arutz Sheva the other day about how executing terrorists would turn them into even greater shahids, martyrs, and how such propaganda would be alwyays and immediately turned into anti-Israel propaganda.
Oh yes Arutz Sheva, just Zionist government propaganda many progressive Jews will tell us as they turn to Mondoweiss for the "truth" Or Jewish currents....or the Forward ....or perhaps Ms. Einbender.....
I so love what you wrote, and how practical you are with no mincing words. "First, people simply do not understand why so many vocal and angry Muslims feel that they are being “persecuted.” That’s simple. Most Muslims are brought up to believe that they must dominate all others. If they are not dominant in Hindu or Christian or Jewish countries, they might experience that as persecution, discrimination, and shameful. And coming from a shame-and-honor tribal culture, they may grow violent, or even kill over this."
I have been thinking this for a long while and it explains so much, but most importantly, why so many women and "feminists" keep wanting to support and protect muslims, even when they clearly want many of us dead. Why do they not see this? My terrified friends in Europe know it. If "feminists" in the US realized it, that would change so much, and we also wouldn't have to keep being lectured and insulted by "friends" on behalf of muslim men.
What you said also explains the heterosexual men who claim to be Lesbians and women, their outrage when being told no, even though most women are on their knees before them, also, like muslim men, their quickness to threaten rape and death. With the media calling the male murderers "women," we have no idea how many murders they've committed. (I live in Oakland yet still most women here have no idea about the triple hate crime murder of a Lesbian family by a man claiming to be a Lesbian.) We Lesbians never agreed to be added to "GBTQIA," with T being our worst enemies.
I agree with just killing the enemy in battle who is trying to kill us.
What a shame about your colleague. I do not understand such women who could just look around.... and actually think.
I was wondering about the decision to get the prisoners home, though having to trade for many more terrorist/killers/rapists is so unfair. What a decision when those killers likely will kill and rape again. It's not my place to say, but I would think not returning killers for the bodies of those murderers would make sense in terms of not helping them kill more Jewish people.
I was once pulled over at DeGaulle and researched when the Israeli stamp was noticed and my child's thermos a gift bought at PYLON Paris was opened...."vide." I got the go ahead. As for the Ken Burns Revolution...I'm watching....nothing to object to in telling a fuller story. Did I ever think the Revolution was cleanly "fought" by White men in a room in Philadelphia as one talking head asserts....NO. Not even as a kid. The reason the IDF often has to capture rather than eliminate is due to our version of jag (legal military consultants). The murderer of the Biblas family was apprehended by the IDF but not eliminated at the direction of jag.
It’s always fascinating to read how different people make sense of collective trauma, cultural identity, and historical wounds. What stands out to me here is how much unprocessed pain sits underneath these debates—grief, fear, betrayal, generational memories—and how much those emotional layers shape our interpretations long before politics ever enters the room.

I gave up on Ken Burns. Yes America has scars but so do all countries. The Torah says we shouldn’t judge a man for the times he lived in.
Yes to Capital punishment for terrorists.

Dr. Chesler,
Thank you for thinking, thinking, and for sharing your heretical thoughts with us. I am listening intently, and so are others among us.
Best wishes always,
Melissa

At last someone has opened the topic! Terrorists should face a firing squad, or facsimile.
